Designing and making our pest traps

Yesterday we worked with Mr Billing to make our pest traps. Our groups used the jig to help put the traps together, drilled the holes and used screws to keep them together. We also typed the instructions, planned where to put the traps and learned the vocabulary of trapping and pests.

Week 3 Term 1

Hopefully the weather improves a bit this week so it's nicer to be outside.

An update regarding our Covid procedures in class.

We are following health guidelines and wearing masks inside and taking regular breaks outside. All the classroom windows are open at all times and the fans are on. We all sanitise our hands when entering and leaving the class and desks are cleaned twice a day. Our School Mass will hopefully be held outdoors on Friday, no parents can attend sorry.

We are swimming this week.  Bring togs and towel each day.

Please make sure Chromebooks are charged overnight, no cords will be used in class and students who don't bring their device will just go without for the day. This will not impact their learning but may teach a little lesson.

The school library will be open from Week 4, students will bring up to 3 books home each week.

Remember sausage sizzle on Friday.

Mrs Kusabs will be in R4 on Tuesday, students will be working on an art project.

Morning Learning

Before school the students have time to talk and play with their friends. A group has been making dominoes throughout this week, here is one of their pieces of work.  Other students play games, continue learning from the previous day and talk, it is a very valuable part of our school day.

A great first week

We have had a great first week in R4. Everyone has been really good at getting back into the swing of school. Although we've had a few students off school for various reasons it has been nice to see the class being friendly and kind to each other. I am especially impressed with our Year 6 students who have been super helpful.

On Friday our class helps Viv cook all the sausages. It is a privilege and responsibility, as all the burnt ones get given to R4. Today Zack and Ben helped and did a very good job.
