Week 8 Term 4

Our Tryathlon/ Swimming sports are on Thursday at the Aquatic centre. Here is a link to the Form for parents to complete before the day.  More information is at the bottom of this post.

Last week a letter was sent home with students regarding the use of social media and being responsible online users. There is a return slip attached which needs to be returned to school to acknowledge that it has been discussed at home. Our school's stance (and mine) is that our students are too young to have social media accounts, most platforms state that the minimum age is 13 years of age.  I have more copies of the letter in class if it didn't make it home.

Swimming and cooking

It is great to see so many students enjoying our swimming lessons in the pool. The improvement is clear to see, having time with Henk Greupink has made a big difference.

Today Mr G and a group of students cooked some of the vegetables that were harvested from our gardens. All of the class got to have a little taste.

All students should have a novel to be reading throughout each week. This enables students to read more complex stories over a number of days. Our Library day is Thursday.

Our pest traps are out around the school with footprint cards so we can gather some data before the trapping begins. We'll post some data soon.

Week 3 Term 1

Hopefully the weather improves a bit this week so it's nicer to be outside.

An update regarding our Covid procedures in class.

We are following health guidelines and wearing masks inside and taking regular breaks outside. All the classroom windows are open at all times and the fans are on. We all sanitise our hands when entering and leaving the class and desks are cleaned twice a day. Our School Mass will hopefully be held outdoors on Friday, no parents can attend sorry.

We are swimming this week.  Bring togs and towel each day.

Please make sure Chromebooks are charged overnight, no cords will be used in class and students who don't bring their device will just go without for the day. This will not impact their learning but may teach a little lesson.

The school library will be open from Week 4, students will bring up to 3 books home each week.

Remember sausage sizzle on Friday.

Mrs Kusabs will be in R4 on Tuesday, students will be working on an art project.
